Holly's Election Goals
I’d like to serve as your Council Member primarily
because I enjoy community service and I have learned that communities
grow and thrive when they have positive leadership.
I have strong skills in communication, technology and
building consensus among competing ideas.
I am able to balance these skills with a win-win attitude.
Our city’s leadership team needs to look ahead at emerging issues and
anticipate how they will impact our community –
I believe I can assist in this effort.
In addition, I support:
The completion of sidewalks for Point Brown;
Advancing the use of technology throughout
the city’s administration;
A thoughtful balance between our environment and the needs and services that our residents and
businesses require.
The sidewalk project on Point Brown is a top priority for our residents and our business community. Sidewalks support public safety, access for all and increase mobility for all ages.
I support the design work
that has been started with a grant and will support
the city’s staff as they seek the additional grant monies
to get this project completed.
I support a budget line item that will provide
the needed matching funds so that when the grant
monies are received, we are prepared to complete this project.
I have spent considerable time strengthening my own
technology skills and learning more about the
impact technology is having on every facet of our lives –
Ocean Shores needs to learn and apply these new
technologies to save tax payer dollars and
to provide and strengthen services for our residents,
our businesses and our visitors.
Leaders need to use and understand these technologies
in the administration of the city, as well as providing opportunities
for our city staff to grow in this area.
Creating a thoughtful balance between our environment and the services that our residents and businesses require is an on-going challenge. Local issues include erosion, dredging at the marina and keeping our infrastructure intact
(including our water resources as well as our roads).
These issues require a thoughtful planning process.
Along with planning, comes sharing that
process with all the stakeholders- our residents and our businesses
and acquiring feedback from every corner of the community
that will feel the impact of the final decisions that are reached.
I believe my communication, listening and creative problem solving skills
are essential as we continue creating this thoughtful,
balanced, win-win decision making process.
